Outreach in Pasir Lundu

It's been an awesome week. Just after 2 days of resting I was back to camp again. This time, it's somewhere nearer, which is in Pasir Ulu, Lundu. In case some of you have never heard it before, it's a village/kampong on the way to Kampung Biawak. The border or Indonesia is just 8 minutes apart from it. Too bad we didn’t get the chance to visit the border. It’s said to have lots of hawker shops and shop houses. I went there as usual with the same person except this time there’s people from New Zealand and from the MVDoulos. It’s a big boat ship, which Jasper insists on calling it, selling books from country to country. It stopped by in Kuching at the Sim Kheng Hong’s Port. Our church organised a mural painting competition where different schools came together and each team painted two planks of plywood. One of our school team won the first place!! Anyways, it’s a great chance to do it first time in my life.

Back to the camp, it’s an outreach in the Pasir Ulu’s church where they try to reach out to the drug and alcoholic addicts there. The people there were simply kind. The hospitality of the whole community is just so heart warming. It’s a sad thing that we had to leave the place after the camp.

There’s dozens of dogs there, which were so skinny!

They have their own zoo… Haha!

I saw Yan Hui and Delia inside!!

That’s the old church, where they worshipped before the new one was built by the New Zealanders years ago.

The New Zealand team that followed us was crazy, especially Scott, who is a policeman. He was sliding down the steep covered with mat with flowing water and detergent.

Daia, for optimum result of slipperiness

GO NOW!! If not, you will taste my rotan!

Guess what, his back was injured by the stones and the sands on the mat when he was sliding down. And it bled.

Lesson #1, never play this kinda stuff

And this is Pastor Daniel Paikea who’s a funny man. He’s so different that you wouldn’t notice he’s a pastor.

cleaning up the mess

Jolina with her newly found daughter

The kids were following her every where and she’s like so happy. Haha…

so sweet hor… haha…

We went to Sematan Beach right after that. Daniel decided to be a Sonia for once.

Please don’t, I’m feeling shy……

I'm so happy.. hahahahaha

look at me one more time and I'll have you finish up the ice-cream!

Get what I'm trying to say about him in the front part?

Hahaha…. Happy moments are passing in a quick pace.
Christmas is coming, and much should be expected during the festive season. I hope it’d not be a lonely Christmas again. The MVDoulos crews have to celebrate a literally “hot” Christmas without the snow. Merry Christmas in another 10 days!! Weeee`~ and someone's birthday is today! 15th December! She's officially 17 this year, but too bad she's now in Taiwan. What a special birthday she's having. We've been friends for so many years and it shall go on. Tonyong, HAPPY 17TH BIRTHDAY!! =D

It has ENDED!

Muahahahaha.. after years of striving, finally comes the day of finishing the final exam of the secondary school that is SPM! I suppose I'd be the last person to blog about this. Couldn't really express how I feel about the whole thing, having to start a new school life again in college someday. Everything would turn back to the starting point where I have to get to know new friends.

The genius, Christine, washing her face before the last paper!

I'm gonna miss my school. In fact, I'd been studying in that school for 5 years. Who wouldn't miss it? I mean, many things happened in my old school like what happened to Kuching High. Funny things, happy things and when things come to worse, sad things. I've been through a lot in the school, chances have been given to me and I appreciate them. We wouldn't stand chance to experience the same thing when we turn up in colleges or universities.

Me and my classmates went to Enter K and had sorta like a farewell party. Just to remember those faces who would be leaving us. It was fun, except the things inside were like, c'mon.. even my house has got better karaoke set. LOL... don't believe? ask my mom then, she's a K-freak. haha

I know I know, should have bought a digital camera...

Hrmm.. we didn't get much free time to spend after SPM cause our annual ISCF Dinner was held few days right after the SPM. The girls were busy planning for the dinner, and thanks to them, it all went well. Here are some of the pictures taken using the 2.0 MP phone.. gosh.. I wished I had something better that day. Haha..

Then came the National Bible Camp in Batang Ai... the camp was great. It was quite free to wander around I must say. But I felt better after coming back from the camp.
The guys there were great. Thank God that the weather was just nice... well, only pictures of us coming back. Haha.. was too excited to snap any photos during the camp.

Enjoy the last 3 months you got before going into the next phase of your life!

Durian

There’s a part of the lyrics in Dancing Queen there goes like this, “having the time of your life”… I just wonder about that passage… Have I been having the time of my life for the past 17 years? I’ve been grateful to have such blessing upon my life where I grew up to be a normal kid. But being normal isn’t enough for somebody else. I enjoy being myself… I love myself; in fact I’m happy to me. I was reading from the book written by Sophie Kinsella, Remember Me? I know it might be a book which only girls read it. But it’s funny and that’s how a person would want his or her life to be exactly the same. Waking up the next day, everything seems to be perfect, having a great job, teeth, hair and spouse. I’d love to experience it also. Dreams I would say… But not everything turns out to be perfect… until she realized her life is actually so messed up. Haha, wouldn’t want that to happen to me.

I went to Santubong last last Saturday with my sister, who had just gone back to Singapore again. I hope she’s doing well again this time, despite the fact that she’s having a cyst in her ovaries. She’s been such a blessing and spoils us a lot. I mean really spoil us with JUNK FOOD particularly. She enjoys cooking for us and then she’ll sit down with us around the table and enjoy looking at us eating. How funny…

We went to visit my grandma after that. She’s living in this house for her whole life. And I went to a lake nearby.

Can’t believe SPM’s actually 30 plus days apart. I will surely miss the school life, the friends, the blackboard, the noises and the teachers. Things would totally be different once we step into college or university, starting our own new life.

Warmth of a classroom.. gonna missssss it a lot.. look at that faustine..

Yikes, so sweet..

And we went to Lundu and Sematan for the Durian Mission planned several weeks ago. Oh man, it was fantastic… the weather’s just ok. Not too sunny and it rained a bit. We went to John’s place where there are lots of durian trees grown. Managed to found some and it tasted so nice. Well, at least for some of it. Then we went to the seafood restaurant which we had a visit before and had our lunch there. I prefer the meal that was prepared before this. Here are some pictures to feed your eyes!

Hua Yong trying to steal our fruits away!! Haha

Oh no!! Someone found out.. RUN RUN!

They seemed to enjoy pretending to be dead.. @@

The girls’ face were like smashed with something.. lol
Alvin : “My pants are too heavy!!”

Lastly, a small durian for a treat! Selamat Hari Raya!

AAaaHHhhh

Happy 51 Birthday Malaysia. Its celebration was quite dull this year as the economy wasn’t so good as well. I enjoyed the display of the fireworks yesterday though. So huge that it lights up the night sky. Went to the dinner at the Banquet on Friday and the food wasn’t that bad. They offered us the karaoke sets so I bet those guys were having great time singing and dancing. Not to mention Pn. Poh who started the dancing first… Haha! She was dancing all around. Pastor Cheli left earlier due to the flight to KL to attend Pastor Ryan’s wedding. Congrats them for being a newly-wed this Saturday.
A few pictures for this post only. Have a great Monday then, since it’s a holiday. =D Merdeka!

Dropping a signature...(without a pen?)
